GENERAL NORMS
Discipline
01. Our students are expected to be punctual in attending all classes, especially, the First Hour in the morning and the Fourth Hour in the afternoon. No one is allowed to enter the class after the second bell without obtaining a LATE SLIP duly signed either by Fr.Principal / Fr.Vice-Principal / Block-in-charge. If a student reaches after the class begins he/she should stay out, for the rest of the period and attend the next class. All lecturers are expected to strictly enforce this rule. Attendence is taken at the beginning of each hour.
02. All are reminded that smoking, drinking and taking drugs on our College campus is strictly forbidden. Any violation of this rule will be viewed very seriously and appropriate penal action will be taken against the offender/s.
03. The Government and the University have issued detailed instructions with regard to the banning of any sort of RAGGING on the College campus by any student. LOYOLA ACADEMY right from the beginning has enforced this ban (of ragging or any type of intimidation) with severe sanctions attached. Instant dismissal is the usual punishment for any offenders in this regard.
04. During class hours, students should not be found loitering anywhere on the College Campus. Transacting any work in the College Office during class hours is to be avoided by all.
05. After the second bell, strict silence is to be observed in the class by all students. If the lecturer happens to come late, they should maintain silence inside the class.
06. Students should not go to the canteen during class hours and after the close of the college, they should not hang around near the canteen unnecessarily.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
07. Those who abstain from class for some genuine reason should submit the LEAVE LETTER duly signed by his/her parent/warden, preferably before he/she avails
him/herself of leave or as soon as he/she returns to attend classes. Due permission must be obtained from either Fr. Principal / Fr. Vice-Principal / Block-in-charge before he/she attends class.
VEHICLE PARKING
08. All vehicles (Scooters, Motorbikes, Mopeds, Cycles, Cars etc.,) should be parked only in the parking lot near the main gate. Pleasure riding in the campus is strictly forbidden.
Dress CODE
09. The students are expected to come in simple and formal clothes. Girls are expected to be in modest dress. Boys are expected to come in simple shirts and trousers. T.Shirts with slogans are not allowed.
Mobile Phones :
10. By order of the supreme court, the students are prohibited from using their mobile phones in the campus. No student is permitted to use any electronic gadgets like MP3, IPOD, etc in the campus.
GENERAL RULES OF THE LIBRARY
01. Strict silence must be observed in the Library and the Reading Room.
02. To borrow books from the Library, an application must be made on printed application slips.
03. The filled-in application slips should be handed into the Librarian.
04. Books will be issued only on presentation of the identification card of the student on which his/her photograph has been affixed.
05. For all students a maximum of two books at a time will be allowed.
06. No one is allowed to sub-lend the library books, he/she has borrowed, nor get books on behalf of another.
07. The borrower will be held responsible for any damage done to the books which he/she borrows and in case of serious damage done to the books, he/she will be asked to restitute the damaged book.
08. Therefore, before leaving the library-counter, the student must carefully check the books issued to him/her. If any damage is noticed, it must be reported to the Librarian at once, lest he should be held responsible for it later on.
09. The loss of a library book should be immediately reported to the Librarian.
10. Books must be returned to the library on or before the due date stamped on them. If not, over-due charge of 50 paise per book per day will be collected from the defaulter.
11. No books will be issued to those who have not cleared their over-due charges in full.
