Loyola Academy (LA) is managed and administered by the Jesuits of Andhra Jesuit Province, belonging to the Society of Jesus, an international Catholic Religious Order. Loyola Academy, Degree and Post Graduate College as well as Loyola Academy Junior College were founded by Rev. Fr. T. Balaiah, S.J. in 1976 at Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Loyola Academy boasts of a sprawling campus, which consists of about 138 acres of land, with playfields and farm. It is affiliated to the prestigious Osmania University. It was granted autonomous status in 1992 by the University Grants Commission. Appreciating the achievements and qualitative pursuit of higher educational needs, UGC has awarded a rare status known as "College with Potential for Excellence" to this College and also extended CPE phase II projects. In addition to that, National Accreditation Council awarded, Grade ‘A’ to this institution in recognition of its excellent contribution to the cause of higher education in 2005 and the college is undergoing NAAC Reaccreditation in this academic year. We are also proud to state that ‘India Today’ has been rating our college for the third consecutive year by giving Ist Rank among the city colleges of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, for Commerce, Science and Arts. Another milestone is that this P.G. College has come under autonomous status from 2010-11 onwards.
